Rory is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of hospitalitybiz. which is recognized as one of Australia’s leading Hospitality Executive Search and Recruitment companies specializing in the placement of top performing people in the hospitality industry both in Australia and around the World.

During his career spanning over 25 years Rory has worked for some of the most prestigious hotel companies in Europe, Southern Africa, Asia and Australia including a number of “Leading Hotels of the World’ including Gleneagles, The Royal, The Windsor and The Beaufort Heritage. Rory also worked as Corporate F&B Director Asia Pacific for Oberoi Hotels and was involved in the opening and running of a number of food and beverage and restaurant operations in Singapore and Malaysia.

He then spent many years in General Management and Senior Management positions for some of the leading international 5 star Hotel companies in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Rory has also worked as Operations Manager for Qantas Catering a large multi-national corporate airline catering company. Experienced in working with large teams and in diverse businesses, he has in-depth knowledge of production processes, process improvement, logistics, and industrial relations, Quality Assurance, Occupational Health and Safety, change management and business strategies.

Rory established hospitalitybiz in 2002 and has built a highly successful business whose reputation is built on absolute trust and dependability. He leads a team of senior hospitality professionals who are unwavering in their uncompromised professionalism and code of ethics and who provide our clients with highly personal, bespoke recruitment services.


Jill Cole - Bowen

Co-Founder and Director

Jill is co-founder and co-owner of hospitalitybiz and was instrumental in the setting up of the company.

Originally from England, Jill completed an Associate Degree in Hotel Catering and Institutional Management at Sheffield Hallam University.

She started her career at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, one of the “Leading Hotels of the World”, where she spent a number of years in Front Office before progressing her career as Conference and Banqueting Manager.

At Gleneagles she spent many years involved in the organization of numerous high profile conferences and events including the NATO conference, Mechanics Grand Prix, Jackie Stewarts CelebrityChallenge and high society weddings.

At hospitalitybiz Jill is actively involved in Executive Search and Recruitment processes. She runs the day to day administration of the business including our recruitment systems . Jill is also responsible for the accounting and payroll department and is the first point of contact for any accounting or payroll enquiries.


Teresa Garbo Lee

Teresa’s career in hospitality spans many years. She completed her hospitality management education in Switzerland, furthered her studies with Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Australia and Henley Business School in England.

Teresa began her career with Movenpick Hotels and Resorts in Switzerland and working with various leading hotel groups thereafter, including Kempinski Hotels, Hyatt International, Fairmont Raffles Hotels International and most recently Kerzner International.

Teresa has performed many key roles in the hotel business including Director and Regional Director of Human Resources, Executive Assistant Hotel Manager and VP Global Executive Search worldwide, from Australia, to China, Vietnam, Japan, Switzerland, England and the Middle East. She recently completed an assignment at Atlantis The Palm, Dubai as Director of Talent Development where she was responsible for strategies and implementation of talent acquisition and development program for the resort; including manpower planning, recruitment and selection, on boarding management, performance management and career development planning for over 3,400 full time colleagues.

Teresa’s work in Performance Management Systems won her the title of Human Resources Director of the Year (Fairmont Raffles Hotel International 2006). Her ability to transition from Human Resources function to General Management impressed judges at Shine Awards UK in 2010, where she collected The Corporate Women of the Year Award.

Teresa worked with hospitalitybiz for over two years prior to her assignment in Dubai. She has now returned to hospitalitybiz as VP Global Executive Search.

Mark has over 25 years of experience in Senior management roles , mainly in the hospitality industry in Leading Hotels of the World such as Gleneagles and Starwood in Four continents with experience in such diverse markets as Japan, Thailand, China, Africa and Europe.Most recently Mark was the CEO of the Beirut Marrathon which he made a Major Global event over his five year tenure.Mark has great experience and knowledge of the Middle East which will be his focus as Vice President Global Executive Search for hospitalitybiz.

He is also now working in partnership with hospitalitybiz in the Middle East and is well positioned to assist in the selection of leaders and managers for global organisations.


Jurgen Baumhoff

Jurgen is a celebrated hotelier whose experience over the past 44 years has seen him lead from senior management positions across several international brands like Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons, IHG, Marriott, Moevenpick, Hyatt, including his post as CEO of Qatar National Hotels Company (now known as Katara) and later COO for Emaar Hospitality.

His solid expertise in hospitality operations, finance, development, and marketing runs deep and spans operator selection, management agreement negotiations and review, asset management, pre-opening consultancy, operational audits, recruitment, F&B advisory, and partner selection.

Jurgen is also the CEO & Founder of MetaPoint Advisory, a strategic Board Level Advisory which offers comprehensive expertise across a range of businesses with a primary focus on Hospitality.While managing his own Advisory, Jurgen is also a Partner with Swiss Alpine Hospitality Education Group the development arm of Swiss Alpine Center, a Swiss based Hospitality Education provider,  and in addition a Partner in Rosebud Heritage SA, Switzerland a boutique Hotel Asset Brokerage and Asset Management Firm.

Jurgen also volunteers and is a member of the Rotary Club of Perth and a member of the Executive Committee of the United Nations Association of Australia WA Chapter.

Providing support and advise to young people who want to enter and make a career in Hospitality is his passion.

Hein came to the USA (to live the American dream), after being head hunted for the position of Regional Director of Learning and Development to establish the Learning and Development department for a prominent Hotel Group in the USA, Mexico and the Caribbean, utilizing my exceptional and unique skills in not only hospitality operations management, but also in education. One hotel received the coveted Forbes Travel Guide Five Stars an impressive nine months after opening followed by two others with Four and Five Stars respectively during my tenure as Regional Director of Learning and Development for North America, Caribbean and Mexico.

Hein has over two decades of extensive management experience in the hotel and entertainment industry. His comprehensive knowledge and skills were employed to project manage the entire hotel management component for the inception of the 5 star Santé Wellness Centre in Simondium, Paarl which opened in September 2003. This commission followed upon his return from America following a successful two year contract as Hotel Manager at the highly acclaimed prestigious Peninsula Beverly Hills in California, which hosts Global industry leaders, celebrities and Hollywood stars.

During his career locally he managed both resort and specialized hotels ranging from Kruger Park Lodge (Hazyview), the Strand Hotel (Swakopmund, Namibia), the Alpine Heath Resort and Conference Village (Drakensberg) as well as Sun International’s Thaba ‘Nchu Sun Hotel and Casino and luxury Western Cape hotels Lord Charles (Somerset West) and Cape Sun.His project management skills and ability to enable team work saw him refurbish the prestigious Carlton (Johannesburg) and Royal (Durban) hotels as special projects manager for Three Cities Hotels.
